David and his wife Mary Christina have six children, Mary Shafer (Justin), John (Ashley), Emily, Annie, Amanda and Hannah. The Watkins family resides near Rushsylvania, on a farm that has been in the family since at or about the time Logan County was founded. David is the son of John and Maxine Watkins.
